Over a year ago, Skyhigh established the CloudTrust™ Program to provide customers with objective and comprehensive assessment of a cloud service’s security capabilities. Today, we are excited to publicly announce the Skyhigh CloudTrust™ Program and its highest rated rated cloud services.
Security Audits are Expensive
The genesis of the program was feedback from over 120 CIOs and CISOs on their cloud security challenges as they sought to enable cloud services for their employees. One of their primary challenges was the time and effort required to perform a detailed cloud security assessment for the numerous services requested by their employees. According to one CISO, the company was spending an average of $20,000 to perform a basic security evaluation for each cloud service.
The Skyhigh CloudTrust™ Program provides an extensive, impartial, and current analysis of security capabilities based on detailed set of criteria developed in conjunction with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). Specifically, Skyhigh analyzes over 50 different data, user, device, service, business, and legal attributes for each cloud service.
Which Services are Rated Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready™?
Only the services that fully satisfy the most stringent requirements for data protection, identity verification, service security, business practices, and legal protection are awarded the Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready™ rating.
Of the thousands of cloud services used by employees, only 11% have earned the Skyhigh Enterprise-Ready™ rating. These include cloud leaders like: Adobe Echosign, Appcelerator, BambooHR, Birst, Box, Cisco WebEx, CollabNet, DocuSign, Gainsight, Host Analytics, HubSpot, Informatica, Jive Software, Lattice Engines, Marketo, Okta, Ping Identity, RingCentral, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Yammer, Yesware, and Zuora.
According to Brian Lillie, CIO of Equinix, “This is the kind of third-party validation that has been missing from the cloud applications and services industry. It enables IT and security teams to quickly evaluate the security capabilities of cloud services and allows cloud service providers to promote meaningful differentiation in the enterprise market. Skyhigh’s objective, third-party evaluation is a security best-practice we have implemented at Equinix and I envision that this program will become a critical part of the cloud service provider selection process for enterprises in the months ahead.”
