At McAfee we believe that security is a team sport and no single company can address the entire spectrum of security threats that attack the enterprise every hour of every day. This is the reason why amongst other things, we launched and adopted an open-eco-system approach to securing the enterprise around our OpenDXL Standard.
Today we are truly excited to announce that McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud is joining VMware Workspace ONE Trust Network, VMware’s initiative to create a security eco-system and solution to secure users and applications in VMware Workspace ONE.
In the modern enterprise, employees are increasingly getting their job done on mobile end-points using cloud backends such as Office 365 and Salesforce, or collaboration tools like Slack. VMware Workspace ONE manages any app on any smartphone, tablet, or laptop, improving user productivity and satisfaction by allowing employees to work the way they want.
This means that enterprise data is created on end-points and in the cloud and then shared from one cloud service to another bypassing the traditional network controls in what the industry now calls the borderless enterprise.
By integrating McAfee Skyhigh Security Cloud with Workspace ONE via the Workspace ONE Trust Network, VMware and McAfee bring to their common customers the ability to get complete visibility over their data and to set security policies that span end-points, client applications, and cloud services.
IT can define security, DLP and threat protection policies in Skyhigh, which get invoked from Workspace ONE in response to relevant security events. Then Workspace ONE Intelligence allows security operators to get access to analytics across the whole architecture.
VMware and McAfee are aligned around a common vision of leveraging best in class products from market leaders to solve the modern security challenges of the mobile-first, cloud-first world without getting in the way of the way employees work. We are looking forward to delivering great value to our common customers.
We will share more details about the technical integration as it becomes available later this year.
