At the recent SC Magazine Awards in London, Skyhigh Networks was the proud winner of the award for Best Newcomer Security Company of the Year. Published since June 2006, SC Magazine UK is the leading publication for IT security professionals and their annual SC Awards holds the distinction of being the major awards for the security industry.

Winning awards is always a great accolade; it also reminds us to reflect on why we won, thank those involved, and encourages us to continue to innovate to deliver ever greater customer value.

Firstly, the award is an indication that the technology is in a market that’s time has come. Almost every organisation is embracing the cloud – some with great enthusiasm and some more reluctantly taken there by their users, and from this comes the need to ensure data is kept safely in the cloud.

Secondly, SC Magazine’s judges said that they favoured our comprehensive approach to the market. They spoke not only of our patent-pending technology, but also our Customer Success team, the fact that that we proactively notify customers of CSP vulnerabilities, our cryptography board made up of academic researchers, and our Customer Advisory Board – all dedicated to delivering the market-leading technology our customers use.

Skyhigh’s Charlie Howe and Nigel Hawthorne accept the award.

Thirdly, it’s a great win for our engineers, with over 50% of employees being in the engineering team delivering constant innovations, those of us not in engineering owe them a real vote of thanks for their dedication.

Fourthly, it is recognition of the sales growth in Europe. With analysts quoted as saying our global market share is many times larger than our nearest competitor SC magazine added “The judges liked Skyhigh’s approach and said their fast growth speaks for itself”. So, many thanks to our customers for trusting us to provide them with cloud security and enablement as they increasingly move their IT systems to the cloud.

Finally, Thank you to the judges, and to SC Magazine for sponsoring the awards. You can read more about what SC Magazine had to say about Skyhigh and the other winners on their awards website.
