LONDON, UK. — April 14, 2015 – Skyhigh Networks, the cloud security and enablement company, and Skyscape Cloud Services, the provider of assured cloud services exclusively to the UK public sector, have today announced a partnership to deliver cloud security services for the UK public sector via the Government’s G-Cloud service.
The UK Government has implemented a “Cloud First” policy, where public sector organisations must evaluate services provided via the cloud before other services. However, concerns around privacy, sovereignty and integrity issues continue to make organisations less confident about embracing cloud services.
With this partnership, Skyhigh Networks will host its security services on Skyscape’s assured platform to provide security and compliance capabilities between UK public-sector organisations and non-UK-hosted cloud services such as Salesforce.com, Box, Office 365, ServiceNow, Jive and Dropbox.
This service can encrypt and/or tokenise data in motion with the Government entity holding the encryption keys – ensuring that no data leaves the UK. In addition, the service can deliver data loss prevention, cloud activity monitoring and anomaly detection to office and mobile users.
As a result, UK public sector organisations can now use hundreds of cloud services while providing robust data protection services to data stored in these cloud services, thereby meeting data privacy requirements and conforming to regulations.
“We know that the UK public sector sees a great benefit in using cloud services, but needs to ensure data privacy and conformance to Government regulations,” said Charlie Howe, VP EMEA Skyhigh. “We chose Skyscape due to its experience within the UK public sector, its accreditation up to OFFICIAL and its PSN compliance”.
The Skyhigh Cloud Security Platform provides comprehensive visibility and policy enforcement capabilities, including standards-based data encryption (with customer-owned keys), data tokenisation, integration with single-sign-on services, anomaly detection, policy enforcement and multiple-service reporting. Furthermore, thee capabilities are provided in conjunction with the customer’s current infrastructure and without requiring agents on endpoints or VPN backhauling for mobile users.
