SVP of Engineering and Operations
Balaji Thiagarajan is SVP of Engineering and Operations at Skyhigh Networks. Balaji brings more than 20 years of experience building consumer internet and enterprise software systems. He is widely recognized for architecting and building very large scale cloud computing systems, mobile applications for pure Android and for his contributions to open sourcing big data technologies and tools.
Before joining Skyhigh Networks, Balaji was Corporate Vice President of software and services at Lenovo as part of the acquisition of Google’s smartphone division. Prior to that he was Vice President of Mobile Applications and Cloud Services at Google’s, Motorola Mobility division where he helped build the next generation of mobile cloud service ecosystems on Google’s Cloud Infrastructure and helped launch a new line of pure Android smartphone products which earned the reputation of being the most innovative industry leading products. Balaji has also held positions as Senior Director, Data and Analytics at Yahoo for search and display advertising systems, Senior Director, Window Live at Microsoft, SQL Server lead at Informix and ERP Integration lead at Ariba. Balaji started his career at Los Alamos National Laboratories, as a research associate in the Advanced Computing Labs for High Performance Distributed Computing.
With multiple patents to his name, Balaji is the inventor of early concepts for broad band application delivery that enabled Digital Video Recording and Video On Demand for IP based systems. He has served on the advisory board of multiple startups and continues to be engaged with many of them. Balaji holds a MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and a MBA from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
